About Behavioral Services Center

The Behavioral Services Center is a fully licensed outpatient substance abuse treatment facility for adults and adolescents. The agency was founded five years ago and has three locations total in Cook, DuPage, and Lake Counties: Skokie (primary) and two secondary locations (Bensenville and Libertyville).

The agency employs licensed professional clinical counselors and has contract agreements with two psychiatrists who specialize in adult and adolescent populations. The psychiatrists have affiliations with Children’s Memorial Hospital and Rush North Shore Medical Center – currently Evanston Northwestern Healthcare.

Our philosophy is to deliver quality care in individual and group settings by application of cognitive-behavior model in combination with pharmacological treatment. Furthermore, the agency has been promoting integrative treatment to individuals with substance abuse disorders offering biofeedback, mindfulness, harm reduction, and meditation training. The Behavioral Services Center established a linkage agreement with the Healing Center that offers acupuncture for patients who are interested in receiving alternative forms of treatment.

The Behavioral Services Center offers Intensive Outpatient Treatment Groups on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays between 6pm and 9pm. On Mondays and Wednesdays, between 10:30am and 1:30pm.

The Behavioral Services Center accepts a variety of insurance for its substance abuse programs. In particular, the Center is the preferred provider for the Aetna, Blue Cross/Blue Shield, Cigna Behavioral Health, ComPsych, Unicare, United Behavioral Health, and other insurance companies. The substance abuse programs of the Behavioral Services Center are funded by the Department of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse (DASA).

In addition, the Behavioral Services Center also offers Partner Abuse Intervention Program (PAIP). The Intervention groups are offered on Saturdays at 1pm and on Tuesdays at 6pm at the Skokie office and on Mondays at 5pm at the Libertyville Office. The Center is proud recipient of the Cook County RFP to deliver Partner Abuse Intervention Program to indigent clients of the Social Services Department of the Circuit Court of Cook County.

The Behavioral Services Center offers a range of other services that include anger management, parenting skills building, mental health evaluations, and counseling/psychotherapy.

The Behavioral Services Center established linkage agreements with local medical centers, substance abuse/psychiatric treatment facilities, and social services agencies. It has been working closely with local AA organizations, Behavioral Turning Point, and Social Services Department of Niles Township. The agency successfully passed inspections conducted by Department of Human Services/DASA in January of 2007 and Bureau of Domestic & Sexual Violence Prevention in 2009.
